The interview of American students

It was a great time that I talked to several American students. Some of them had been to another country, that was really cool, and they like international students here, they thought Asian people were friendly. To my surprise, almost all of them were wanted to be a teacher that after graduation. And they wanted to teach foreigner people English. There were at least four people in each of their families. They would spend this Christmas holiday with their families, some of them might travel to another states of USA. We also talked about the assignment of each major, it depended which course that you take. They were honest to answer each question, even about GF&BF J

In my opinion, American students are friendly to foreigners. They can talk about whatever you want to know. More and more people noticed that English is really an important language in the world, it not only the bridge of communication, but also the interaction of culture. During this class, I can know the lifestyle of American people, and improve my English skills. That is helpful to my study.

The Dai is one of the 55 minorities in China, with a population of about 1.2 million. They live in southern of Yunnan Province, some of them are live in Laos and Thailand, such as Hmong. Dai also have their own language, music and letters.
The Dai people believe in Hinayana, which is a sect of Buddhism. They even send children to the temples to learn the Buddhism scriptures, that is interesting.
Rice is the staple food in the Dai nationality, they like glutinous rice and bamboo rice which is in bamboo. They also have traditional festivals such as The Water-splashing Festival, which is the New Year of the Dai ethnic minority. It is on the 24th to 26th of the sixth month of the Dai calendar.
Dai is an important minority in china. It shows the diverse culture in my country. we should respect their customs and keep the special culture forever.

The issue of gun

Nowadays, guns become a headache problem in our lives. Different countries have different ways to face the issue. In China, the government put a law that limited to use guns. So we do not have guns in our home. And I think guns are dangerous tool, the government did the right thing. If use guns were legal, there would be confusion in society. The crime rate would increase faster than before. What a terrible thing, I cannot imagine that. But in other western countries, to use guns are legal. It depends on their national conditions. For instance, Americans are allowed to carry guns. Because Unite States is a freedom country that people can do whatever they want. But we must pay attention in juvenile delinquency. I had heard several school shooting incidents in America, these things caused deeply hurt to the families. A few days ago, I heard Wisconsin had become the 49th state that people can carry guns. I do not think that is beneficial for us, because life is more important than freedom.

America Football

Last Saturday we hold a traditional event that was Homecoming. I have never heard that before, compare our country, we do not hold the event like homecoming, but we often held performance during the semester.

The game interested me and I went to Carson Park to see the friendly competition-Bluegolds VS Titans. Our team scored 13 at one point early in the game. They showed us speed and passion. All of us cheered. But after half time, Titans were seemed more energy than Bluegolds. They scored again and again. Finally, the Titans won the Bluegolds by 23-16. It surprised all of us, we were a little disappointed.  The game was irrelative. So this was the reason why American people love it. When the athletes scored, the audience would applaud to show their passion in the game. I know American love competition with others; it must pay a lot of energy in the game. The winner will be the person who is hard-working. I am so glad to attend such a great event.

The Ropes course

Last Sunday, we had an interesting course outdoor. All of us attended the ropes course. That was a cold day, so the tutors let us run to get warm first. I run as quickly as I can. After warming up, we started activity. The first step was beat the ball. And we played into 2 groups. We just catch the ball or circled. Finally, we won the game. Then all of us circled, and each of us found a partner to cooperate the game. One person cannot open eyes, other person told the direction, and hit people. That was a challenge for us. But I did not play well. After that, we were asked to stand on a blanket, my arms were caught by team mate, at that time, I set out a great posture like Jesus, OMG… How funny I was. We crossed the wooden bridge later, after that we played the “NO TALKING” game, we only can use body language, and we must stand as our birthday months. At last, we played swing, it was an extreme game with a lot of fun. I love that game, and I am glad to play with my classmates.

What Is Culture ?

Culture is an abstract thing. It cannot touch, but you can feel. Just like a chocolate, before you eat it, you may think “What is that?” “Why so many people like to eat such a black thing?” After you have a try, you may know what the sweetest thing is and love it.
Culture is not only human activities but also arts. Different areas have its own culture, it inherited by ancestors who created the customs. Through the music, painting, dancing and so on, we can learn a lot about previous. Further speaking, it is a bridge which connects past and future.
We should protect our traditional culture, and inherit it to next generation.
